The boutique search firm he founded is large enough to meet the needs of an increasingly sophisticated education, foundation and institutional clients, yet small enough to provide highly personalized service. This combination produces professional search with a personal touch.
He has been successful in recruiting to his own firm, professionals who believe that service is foremost and no detail is too small. This philosophy has resulted in successful searches with very satisfied clients and happy placements.
Barry's own professional career has taken him up through the ranks. His first management position was at the University of Chicago Hospitals. After serving his administrative residency at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, a large medical center in Northern Kentucky, Barry remained there for seven years. His early responsibilities included management of human resources for a work force of over 2,400. He was later promoted to Vice President with responsibility for strategic planning and legal affairs.
He recently served as a board member for a prominent Midwestern Catholic-sponsored health system and is a Fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives. In 1996, he was appointed to the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Board of Examiners. He belongs to several other professional organizations including: Healthcare Information Management Systems Society, American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration, World at Work, Society for Human Resource Management, the Institute for Diversity, and the Association of Hispanic Healthcare Executives.
Barry attended DePauw University and graduated from Loyola University of Chicago with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology. He obtained his Master's degree in Hospital and Health Administration from Xavier University.
